Giles Andreae, the author of Captain Flinn Pirate Dinosaurs: Smugglers Bay!, is an award-winning children’s author who has written both fiction titles and best-selling picture books. He is probably most famous as the creator of the phenomenally successful Purple Ronnie, Britain’s favorite stickman. The Witch’s Children, which he illustrated, was shortlisted for the Greenaway in 2004, and The Witch’s Children and the Queen was on the Smarties shortlist in 2005.
